As part of the Erasmus+ partnership between our institution, Sakarya University of Applied Sciences (SUBÜ), and Guarda Polytechnic University (Instituto Politécnico da Guarda - IPG) in Portugal, mutual visits were carried out. These visits aimed to strengthen internationalization, foster academic interaction, and lay the groundwork for future joint projects between the two institutions.
Dr. Luís R. Silva from Guarda Polytechnic University visited SUBÜ and conducted site visits particularly at the Pamukova Vocational School. During the visit, ideas were exchanged on vocational and technical education practices, models of collaboration with industry, and student mobility. Dr. Silva was accompanied throughout the visit by Prof. Dr. Fatih Sönmez from SUBÜ, along with academic and administrative staff from Pamukova.
As part of the same cooperation, Prof. Dr. Fatih Sönmez from SUBÜ also visited IPG, where he received detailed information about the institution's academic structure, hands-on training opportunities, and international projects. During the meetings, both institutions expressed their intention to increase student and staff mobility under the Erasmus+ programme and to develop joint projects in the upcoming period.
The reciprocal visits have strengthened the academic ties between the two universities and contributed to the potential for long-term collaboration.
